The cement industry plays a vital role in modern construction by providing essential building materials and infrastructure worldwide. The industry is committed to contributing to the world’s growth while moving towards environmentally sustainable practices. Cement is a crucial material in the construction industry, but its production is a complex process that involves multiple steps and specialized equipment.

There are several primary steps and pieces of equipment involved in manufacturing cement.

Primary Steps and Equipment Used in Cement Manufacturing

After being ground into a fine powder, cement is transported by pneumatic pumps to storage silos, where it is packaged in paper bags or shipped in bulk containers.

Traditional Open Gear Lubricants

Traditional lubricants for open gears used in rotating equipment like kilns and mills each have their own strengths and weaknesses. They can be grouped into three categories:

  • Brown Asphaltic Lubricants: These are easy to apply because they contain solvents. But after the solvent dries, they can become hard and build up in the gear teeth.

  • Black Greases: Easy to apply and contain protective solids, like graphite, that help lubricate. However, they are not clear, making it difficult to inspect the gears, and they don’t drain well unless the gear cover is designed to help drainage.

  • High-Viscosity Fluid Lubricants: These flow well and are clear, making gear inspection easier. But they don’t contain protective solids and may not stay in place well enough to protect gear surfaces during periods when equipment isn’t running.

Performance & Features

  • Temperature range: 0°C to +140°C (32°F to 284°F)

  • Best applied at temperatures above: +10°C (50°F)

  • Excellent protection against wear

  • Works very well even when gears run dry

  • Suitable for all kiln and mill gear drives

  • Does not ignite on hot kiln surfaces

  • Creates a thick, stable lubricant film

  • Maintains stable lubrication even when gears are stopped

  • Contains no solvents or bitumen

  • CEPLATTYN GT 10 is a thick, sticky lubricant designed for heavy-duty open gears, such as those used in kilns, mills, and dryers in industries that process raw materials. It uses a synthetic oil base, advanced additives, and special white lubricants that actively protect against wear. This unique formula provides excellent protection and creates a stable, strong lubricant layer.

When used together with CEPLATTYN GT P (Primer) and CEPLATTYN GT RN (Running-In), it forms the complete FUCHS Multi-Phase Lubrication System to keep your equipment running smoothly.
