The lubricant is introduced into the injector under pressure at the inlet. This pressure causes the injector piston to move forward, displacing a pre-charge of lubricant from the discharge chamber through the outlet check valve and into the feed line.
Once the lubricant has been discharged, the system pressure is relieved, and the piston returns to its resting position. During this process, the previously stored lubricant in the measuring chamber is transferred to the discharge chamber, making the injector ready for the next discharge cycle.
